Many Christians have no idea about the spiritual Zion that Jesus Christ (1st Coming) established and Christ Ahnsahnghong (2nd Coming) rebuilt. Although many churches use the word Zion in their churches, many are clueless about what makes a place Zion. We should understand how important it is to distinguish the spiritual Zion where God dwells and why the 2nd Coming of Jesus must come in flesh to grant salvation.

Two types of Zion

There are two types of Zion in the Bible — the physical Zion established by King David and the spiritual Zion built by Jesus Christ. Between the two, the spiritual Zion that Jesus established is what we need to know the most.

Ezekiel 37:24 My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd. They will follow my laws and be careful to keep my decrees.

It is important to note that the above prophecy was written around 450 years after King David, the 2nd king of Israel, died. So Ezekiel 37 is a prophecy about the prophetical King David who will be the king and shepherd of God’s people and guide them to carefully keep the decrees of God. Jesus is the prophetical King David who came as our King (Isa 9:6-7, Lk 1:31), shepherd (Jn 10:11), and guide to keeping the decrees of God (Jn 14:15, Mt 28:18-19).

Establishing Zion was the most remarkable work King David did during his reign as a king (2 Sam 5:7). Even to this day, the famous Israelite movement to return to their homeland is known as Zionism, the name after the city that King David established.

The prophetical King David, Jesus Christ, also needs to establish Zion. But it will be a far greater place compared to the Zion that King David established.

The 1st Coming Jesus established the Spiritual Zion

Jesus Christ established the sacred festivals of God, to build Zion for God’s people to receive salvation. In Isaiah 33:20, it’s written that Zion is the city of God’s festivals, and in Leviticus 23, God gave his appointed festivals that we should keep as sacred assemblies. The feasts are as follows:

Therefore, the spiritual Zion is not just a specific city like Palestine, but the church that keeps the above feasts of God.

Can we say that all churches that keep any religious festivals are Zion? Not at all. Only the feasts of God make a place, Zion. Just like not all birthdays are your birthdays and not all shopping malls are called Robinson’s mall, so not all religious festivals are God’s festivals, and not all churches are Zion.

Jesus, as the spiritual King David, taught the people 2,000 years ago to keep the feast of God (Lk 16:4, Mt 26:17-28, Ac 2:1, Jn 7:2-38 ). In doing so, He was able to build Zion by establishing the feasts of God. Some people may think that the laws or feasts of God aren’t relevant to our salvation because all we need is faith. Such people don’t understand why Jesus Christ had to come to this Earth and what important blessings are hidden in the feasts of God. God didn’t give us the laws for no reason. We are called sinners because we violate laws. And through God’s coming and sacrifice in the flesh, the feasts are established to give us forgiveness of sins (Heb 9:22, 1 Co 5:7, Mt 26:26-27). Only by going to Zion can we keep the feasts of God and receive the blessings of salvation contained in the laws. That’s why Jesus came and established the spiritual Zion for us.

Satan destroyed Zion

Since keeping the feasts of God in Zion can bring us blessings of salvation, Satan makes so much effort to destroy this place. To do so, Satan changed the laws of God one by one during the dark ages. Because of this, Zion got destroyed as the Bible prophesied.

Daniel 7:25 He will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people and try to change the set times and the laws. The holy people will be delivered into his hands for a time, times, and half a time.

Matthew 13: 37 He answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil… The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth…

If we carefully study the above verses, we can understand that Satan sowed weeds (those who practice lawlessness KJV) by changing the set times and the laws of God. After Jesus and the apostles went up to heaven, the above prophecy began to be fulfilled.

Similar to the time of Adam and Eve, the serpent twisted the words of God to make them sin. In the same way, the above-mentioned feasts of God slowly disappeared and got replaced by man-made laws and festivals that are not written in the bible like Sunday service, Christmas, and Thanksgiving Day to make the people turn away from the real laws of God. Christians fell into Satan’s trap, forgot the feasts of God, and Zion got ruined as a result of Satan’s schemes.

Now, if there is no Zion where the feasts of God are celebrated, but only the teachings that are not from God, can we receive life and go to heaven?

Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers (you who practice lawlessness KJV)!’

What makes a person an evildoer? It’s not because they prophesy in God’s name, drive out demons or perform many miracles. Although we do many things in the name of God and call on the Lord always, if we don’t do what God commanded us, everything we do for the Lord will be useless because we’re just lawless people who are evildoers because of ignorance and disobedience.

Thus, God’s feasts and Zion are essential to go to heaven. However, if it’s destroyed, how can we go to heaven?

God promised to rebuild Zion

In Isaiah 51:3 and Psalms 102:16, God prophesied that Zion that got ruined will be rebuilt by the Lord himself. Our God who loves us so much and knows very well that we can’t receive the blessings of salvation without Zion and the feasts of God, came again for a 2nd time to rebuild Zion.

Hebrews 9:28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

Micah 4:1-2 In the last days, the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and peoples will stream to it. Many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

Revelation 14:1 Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name…

Isaiah 25:6-9 On this mountain (Zion) the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine… In that day they will say, “Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.”

Zion is the place where God’s people will gather together before Judgement day. Why is that? We can find the answer if we put the verses above together. Jesus, the Lamb in Revelation 14, will come again in the last days, and on mount Zion, He will teach His laws and feasts. The feast in the book of Isaiah 25 refers to the Passover that is one of God’s feast that has wine and contains the blessings of eternal life and forgiveness of sins — salvation. In other words, the 2nd coming grants salvation in Zion through the feast of God in the last days, so people will gather there.

The 2nd Coming should come in the flesh

Many people insist that the 2nd coming is coming as a spirit and not in the flesh, so the 2nd coming that they are waiting for is His coming on the Judgement day. If that is the case, how and when will the 2nd coming establish Zion? We should not forget that Zion is the city of God’s festivals that are essential to make us, sinners, free from sin and death. Therefore, it’s important for Zion to be rebuilt in the last days before the Judgement day, so we can gather there to receive salvation.

How did Jesus Christ establish Zion 2,000 years ago? He came in the flesh and taught the feast of God to His people. Wherever God’s people gather to keep the feast of God taught by Jesus, that place became Zion. Then, how should the 2nd coming Christ rebuild Zion?

By speaking from heaven so people can realize the feast of God and begin keeping them? That’s very ideal for many Christians but it contradicts the prophecy in the Bible that God comes in secret and only a few can recognize Him.

By sending a prophet to teach the feasts of God? This is also not the case because no mater how intelligent a person is, God will only allow the appointed person to fulfill the prophecy of rebuilding Zion. The Bible prophesied that the Most High God Himself will establish Zion just like his 1st coming (Ps 87:5).

Thus, to establish Zion, the 2nd coming Christ also needs to come in the flesh, preach to the people and teach them to obey the feast of God. If we insist on saying that He doesn’t need to come in the flesh, isn’t it like insisting that we don’t need Zion to be rebuilt and we don’t need to keep the feast of God to receive salvation? And isn’t that going against the promise and will of God in the Bible?

He has already come repetition.

Until this time, many think that the 2nd Coming is still to come. However, contrary to their expectation, the 2nd Coming has already come? How is that possible? Think of what Satan did again? He destroyed Zion during the dark ages when he changed the laws of God making the Christians follow lawlessness and not God’s commands. However, there is a church that knows about all the feasts of God and keeps them according to the teachings of the bible — the World Mission Society Church of God.

If there are now people that keep all the feast of God written Leviticus 23, doesn’t it mean that Zion has been rebuilt? How did the World Mission Society Church of God know about the feasts of God that have been hidden for a long time? The Bible prophesied that God himself will establish Zion, so if we meet a man that teaches the feast of God, establishing Zion, who must he be? He must be God himself, right?

Who founded the church of God and taught them the feasts of God? He is Christ Ahnsahnghong. Then, who must He be? Although He is in the flesh, He is the Christ (1 Ti 2:5) who fulfilled the prophecy and opened the way for His children once again to receive salvation.

For many people, it’s ridiculous. But think about this — 2,000 years ago, when people started leaving Jesus Christ because they can’t believe His teaching about Himself and the Passover, only His disciples stayed. Why?

John 6:42-68 Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”… On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”… From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him. “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve. Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.

Just like 2,000 years ago, many people stopped following Jesus Christ when He started teaching them the truth. But His disciples stayed because they realized that He’s the one the Bible prophesied about by whom they can receive eternal life — salvation. Christ Ahnsahnghong fulfilled the prophecies about the 2nd coming and taught people the commandment of God that can give eternal life and lead people to heaven. Shouldn’t we study the prophecies to recognize Him the way the disciples recognized Christ?

If we want to enter life, we should find the laws of God (Mt 19:17) through the Scriptures that make us wise about salvation (2 Ti 3:15). Then, we can find Christ Ahnsanhghong, whom the Bible testifies about (Jn 5:39).
