The Savior in the Age of the Holy Spirit
August 24, 2023
Time and Season People, nowadays, know nothing about the Holy Spirit, let alone, the Age of the Holy Spirit. People do not distinguish the different ages and believe in whatever they want to believe in, however they understand the Bible.
Seasons and Time Change
Due to the earth’s axis and revolution around the sun, there are places around the globe that experience 4 seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. In the temperate zones of the northern hemisphere, springtime begins on March 1, summer on June 1, autumn on September 1, and winter on December 1. For the southern hemisphere, springtime begins on September 1, summer on December 1, autumn on March 1, and Winter on June 1.
When the earth’s northern hemisphere is tilted towards the sun at 23.4°, that’s when the temperate regions experience summer as they receive direct sunlight. It is at this time of the year, however, that the southern hemisphere is not receiving much sunlight, thus experiencing winter in June.
In the same way, when the northern hemisphere is tilted away from the sun, that’s when the temperate regions experience winter in December, and the southern hemisphere receives more light, thus experiencing summer in December.
Depending on certain conditions, we experience different seasons at different periods of time during the whole duration of the year.
There are signs also through which one can distinguish the change in season:
1) Springtime is when vegetation begins to grow. It is the time when the weather becomes warmer and wetter, and animals come out of hibernation.
2) Summertime is the hottest time of the year.
3) Autumn is when plants start to become dormant and leaves start to fall, and animals prepare to hibernate or birds begin to migrate to warmer regions.
4) Winter season is the coldest time of the year when temperate regions experience snow or ice.
It is amazing how plants and animals adapt to the changes in their environment as if they know their time and season. People, however, do not know anything.
Jeremiah 8:7 Even the stork in the sky knows her appointed seasons, and the dove, the swift and the thrush observe the time of their migration. But my people do not know the requirements of the Lord.
There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heavens (Ecc.3:1). Every activity has its time and purpose. It is the same with our faith. To receive the purpose of our faith which is the salvation of our souls (1 Pet.1:8-9), God established His redemption work from the time of Adam and Eve up to the last days.
God divided his 6000-year work of redemption into three ages: The Age of the Father, The Age of the Son, and The Age of the Holy Spirit, and God gave us different names of Savior in each age.
Why Does the Change in Time Matter?
With the change of Age, the name of the Savior also changed. And for the people who believe in God and hope for salvation, it is a matter of life and death to know the name of the Savior in each age.
Psalms 91:9-10, 14-16 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent… “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
It is clear that only the people of God who acknowledge God’s name can receive protection and salvation.
The question is, what is the name of the Savior?
In the Age of the Father, in the Old Testament times, the Israelites, prophets, priests, judges, and kings called on the name Jehovah and became witnesses of Jehovah, because the Savior’s name in that Age is Jehovah.
Isaiah 43:10-11 “You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. I, even I, am the Lord , and apart from me there is no savior.
There is no other Savior in the Age of the Father except Jehovah. At that time, those who believed and served God Jehovah kept the Law of Moses, the Old Covenant. But Jehovah said a time will come when He will establish a New Covenant with His people (Jer.31:31).
Luke 22:20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
Jehovah said that ‘He will establish the New Covenant’, but it was Jesus who established the New Covenant 2000 years ago. This shows that Jesus is Jehovah with a New Name. With Jesus establishing the kingdom of God at His first coming, the Age changed from the Age of the Father to the Age of the Son, and the Savior’s name was changed. That is why, in the Age of the Son, people called on the name of Jesus.
Acts 4:11-13 Jesus is “ ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
There is no other name given to men by which we must be saved, except in the name of Jesus. When people did not recognize the change, Jesus taught them to call on His name. So, in the Age of the Son, the name of the Savior is Jesus, and all who called on His name were saved (Rom.10:13).
John 16:24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
But those who insisted on calling on the name Jehovah without recognizing that the Age of the Father has come to an end, and the Age of the Son has begun, mocked and ridiculed Jesus, and committed the sin of crucifying God Himself.
But those who believed in Jesus, became His witnesses to Samaria and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:6), preaching the New Covenant that Jesus taught. The gospel spread throughout the world, and people came to know and worship the name Jesus.
However, the New Covenant established by Jesus was trampled by Satan according to the prophecies of the Bible (Dn.7:25). Since there was no light of the truth, the whole world was thrown into darkness, and people sinned against God.
Daniel 8:11-12 It set itself up to be as great as the commander of the army of the Lord; it took away the daily sacrifice from the Lord, and his sanctuary was thrown down. Because of rebellion, the Lord’s people and the daily sacrifice were given over to it. It prospered in everything it did, and truth was thrown to the ground.
Without the truth of the New Covenant, no one can be saved. That is why Jesus is to appear a second time to bring salvation (Heb.9:28)
The Holy Spirit and the Second Coming Jesus
The Age of the Father has passed, and the Age of the Son has passed. Jesus is to come a second time in the Age of the Holy Spirit.
Revelation 22:17 The Spirit (Holy Spirit) and the bride say, “Come!”… Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.
Revelation 21:9 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.”
In Revelation 22:17, the Holy Spirit is to appear with His bride to give the water of life in the last days (last age), however, in Revelation 21:9, the bride is the wife of the Lamb, Jesus. Therefore, it is clear that the Holy Spirit is the Lamb Jesus.
However, this does not refer to the first coming Jesus, because Jesus did not have a wife in His first coming. Moreover, the book of Revelation is a book of prophecy about the last days. The Lamb here is the Second Coming Jesus.
What is the name of the Savior in the Age of the Holy Spirit?
Revelation 3:11-12 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name.
Jesus said that He is coming soon, and He will have a New Name. Here, it can be understood that the Holy Spirit is Jesus who comes a second time with a New Name.
Many people are shocked to know the New Name of Jesus. No one imagined that there is the name of the Holy Spirit. But Jesus already revealed this before he ascended to heaven.
Matthew 28:19-20 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Jesus promised that He will be with those baptized in the name of the Father, the name of the Son, and in the name of the Holy Spirit. This was not fulfilled in the Age of the Son, as the apostles baptized people in the name of Jesus only (Acts 2:38; 19:5).
In this Age of the Holy Spirit, we must pray and call on the New Name of Jesus, to receive the purpose of our faith – the salvation of our souls.
As the people of God, we must understand the present time. We are now living in the Age of the Holy Spirit, and only those who believe and call on the name of the Holy Spirit can be saved.
Who knows the Name of the Holy Spirit?
In the last days, God’s name will be written on the foreheads of the people who are standing on Mount Zion (Rev.14:1). As prophesied in Micah 4:1-5, peoples and nations will stream to Mount Zion, and while all the nations walk in the name of their gods, those who receive God’s laws in Zion will walk in the name of the Lord.
Zion is the city of our festivals which means that it is where the feasts of God are celebrated. It is where God, who is our King and Law-giver dwells (Isa.33:20-22). The people of God who keep God’s laws in Zion are those who know and call on the name of God.
Blessed are those who are in Zion, for they will know God. They are the witnesses who boldly proclaim the name of the Holy Spirit in the Age of the Holy Spirit and who will receive God’s promised salvation.
