Weed-like Churches and God’s Judgment
August 11, 2022
Weed-like Churches are false churches which Satan sowed in this world to lead all people to everlasting destruction, and God’s judgment. Most people think that after their lives on this earth, they will immediately enter the kingdom of heaven, thinking that they are worshiping and serving God correctly. However, Jesus said that not everyone who calls on the name of the Lord can enter the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do the will of God (Mt. 7:21). It is also prophesied in Revelation 13:8 that all inhabitants of the earth worship Satan, this is because they do not know God and do not keep God’s laws. People will be surprised to know that though they go to church and pray to God all their lives, God will not acknowledge them in the end, rather, God will send them away from Him (Mt.7:22-23). Then who will be saved? Jesus gave a parable prophesying who will be saved on the last day.
Parable of Weeds Explained
Jesus told a parable in which he likened the kingdom of heaven to a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared…The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into barn (Matthew 13:24-30).
Here, after the man and his servants fell asleep, the enemy sowed weeds among the wheat. When both the wheat and weeds sprouted, he did not allow his servants to uproot the weeds because they might also uproot the wheat. Weeds and wheat are almost identical that it is hard to recognize which is which. But at the harvest time, the lord of the field will separate the wheat from weeds – the weeds tied to bundles to be burned while the wheat is taken to the barn. Even though there are plentiful of weeds, the owner of the field does not want them. What the owner wants is the wheat, though they are few. Jesus explained about the parable as follows:
Matthew 13:36, 37-39 He answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age…
The parable means that Jesus sowed or preached the words of God (Luke 8:11) when he came to this world 2000 years ago. However, when Jesus and his apostles fell asleep, Satan sowed his words to this world, to hinder the work of God. In John 11:11-14, sleep means death. So after Jesus ascended to heaven and His apostles died, the devil sowed his words to this world.
In Matthew 13:41, the children of the devil are the wicked who cause sin and do evil. In 1 John 3:4, sin is lawlessness and in Nehemiah 13:17, desecrating the Sabbath is a wicked thing in the eyes of God. Those who do not keep the laws of God, such as the Sabbath, are clearly the wicked. As the owner of the field let the weeds and wheat grow together, so the earth was filled with lawlessness. This means that in this world, there exists God’s Words and Satan’s words, and there are two types of people – the people of God who obey God’s words and the people of Satan who follow Satan’s words. As it is difficult to recognize the wheat from the weeds, so it is difficult to recognize the true Christians from the false Christians. But at the harvest time, in the last days, God will separate the two. Those who obey God’s words will be brought to the Heavenly barn, the kingdom of heaven, while the wicked who disobey God’s words will be burned in the fiery depths of hell.
Wheat-like Church that belongs to God and Weed-like Churches that belong to Satan
In order not to be punished in hell, people must know God’s words and follow them. One must go back to the time when Jesus sowed the words of God 2000 years ago.
Jesus is the foundation of the gospel. The gospel is the good news of salvation that Jesus taught 2000 years ago to His disciples, and that which was also preached by the disciples to the people even after Jesus ascended to heaven. (Ephesians 2:20)
Teachings of Christ and the Weed-like Teachings of Satan
1. Sabbath(Luke 4:16; Acts 17:2-3)
Jesus kept the Sabbath even though He is God. It is because the Sabbath is God’s word, and Jesus set an example of keeping the words of God, the Sabbath. In the same way, the apostles of the early church kept the Sabbath as was their custom, following the example of Christ.
But in 321 AD, the Roman Emperor Constantine decreed Sunday as a day of rest and worship and abolished the Sabbath.
Almost 300 yrs later after Jesus ascended to heaven and His apostles died, Sunday service was observed. In the parable of the weeds, the enemy sowed the weeds after the owner and his servants slept. In the same way, Satan sowed his word, Sunday worship, to this world after Jesus’ Ascension and after the death of the apostles. This shows that Sunday worship is not God’s word. The weed-like churches that follows the teachings of Satan will surely be burned in hell for eternity, as prophesied by Jesus Himself.
2. Passover (Luke 22:7,15,19-20; Matthew 26:17-19,26-28; 1 Corinthians 5:7)
Jesus, though God, kept the Passover in which he promised the forgiveness of sins through his precious blood. Jesus kept the Passover as an example and taught his disciples to keep it. So the disciples and the apostles kept the Passover and also preached the Passover even after Jesus’ ascension.
However, in 325 AD, the Roman Emperor Constantine abolished the Passover at the Council of Nicea and changed the appointed time from the twilight of the 14th day of the first month to the first sunday following the vernal equinox, calling it Easter. After which, Christmas was instituted in AD 354, and from then on, people kept it as the birthday of Jesus even though Christmas has its origin in pagan religion.
Again, Easter and Christmas were instituted 300 years after Jesus ascended to heaven and after the death of the apostles. It is clear that these are not the teachings taught by Jesus and the apostles. Weed-like churches that keeps Satan’s words can never enter the kingdom of heaven.
3. Regulation of Veil(1Corinthians 11:1-16)
Apostle Paul taught the Early Church the regulation of veil for women. According to Apostle Paul, it is a teaching from Jesus. That’s why all members of the Churches of God in the Apostolic age kept the regulation of veil.
The regulation of veil for women is a teaching from Christ. However, in churches nowadays, women do not use veil during worship. According to the Bible, every woman who prays or prophecies with her head uncovered, that is, they do not wear veil, they dishonor God. It is the same as having her head shaved. And if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off. However, it is a disgrace for a woman to cut or shave their head. In ancient Israel, a woman suspected of adultery is taken to the priest, and the priest takes off her covering and loosen her hair. That’s why it is a disgrace for women to have their hair cut off or head shaved, as it brings out the image of adultery. Spiritually, worshiping without veil, is like having her head shaved and it is disgraceful in the sight of God.
Therefore, not practicing the regulation of veil is not from Christ. It is natural for weed-like churches to dishonor God, as they belong to the devil and not God.
4. Pentecost(Acts 2:1-4)
Jesus poured the Holy Spirit to his disciples on the Day of Pentecost, and gave them the power to preach to Samaria and to the ends of the earth.
5. Feast of Tabernacles(John 7:1,14,37-39)
Jesus kept the Feast of Tabernacles as an example, and promised those who are thirsty and comes to Him the spring of water welling up to eternal life.
Nowadays, churches do not keep the Pentecost and the Feast of Tabernacles that Jesus and the early Church kept. Clearly, this is not the teaching of Christ.
Now, there are many weed-like churches, powerful and extravagant ones. They may claim to believe in God, but through the teachings they follow (Sunday worship, Christmas, Easter, etc.), you can recognize them as the children of Satan. Through the ecumenical movement, the weed-like churches are bundled together to be burned in the fires of hell for eternity.
Only the Wheat-like Church, though small, keeps the words of God. They are regarded as the children of God who will enter the heavenly barn, the kingdom of heaven. In these last days, only the World Mission Society Church of God keeps the Sabbath, the Passover, Pentecost and Feast of Tabernacles, and practice the regulation of veil for women, which means that the Church of God is the Wheat-like Church whom God is pleased with and will bless with salvation.
